Not only do they have brilliant sounding names, but these two artists will be here at the Academy for a week of creation, inspiration and improvising. The energy at the Academy is buzzing, as students get set for a week that will see them perform Beethoven’s violin concerto (with Pekka at the helm), Timo Hietala’s Great Mistakes and a late night tango session all of which will take place on one magical evening (THIS FRIDAY). Pekka Kuusisto was last in the building in 2009 performing contemporary works for electric violin alongside an acrobat. This is pianist, Iiro Rantala first time at the Academy.
We normally don’t use the blog to plug a performance, but this is a show not to be missed. Buy tickets here.
