Exploring Mudgee

This week, ANAM filled a bus with fourteen string musicians, 1 faculty member, 2 visiting artists and a member of staff and headed up to Mudgee in New South Wales for the Musica Viva Huntington Estate Music Festival for a week of music-making.  The festival. which has been running for 23 years, is a great opportunity for music, food and wine lovers alike to listen to some of the best chamber musicians in the world.  This year features Anthony Marwood (violin), Aleksandar Madžar (piano), Howard Penny (cello),  Andrea Lam (piano), Fiona Campbell (mezzo soprano), the Australian String Quartet, the Enso Quartet, Ian Munro (piano) and Narek Arutyunian (clarinet).  ANAM’s contributions are many with the students performing with Howard Penny, Anthony Marwood, Aleksandar Madžar and Fiona Campbell.

  1. Good to see ANAM back at Huntington. There were lots of positive audience comments after last night’s Bartok Divertimento. There was some confusion over the mature age student on cello. Most now know his name is Howard.
    We await Peteris Vasks with great anticipation. inspired programming.
