Over 1000 ANAM alumni are making music right across the globe. Here’s a taste of where you can see them performing throughout December…

affinity collectiveThe members of Affinity Collective, alumni Mee Na Lojewski (cello 2014), Nicholas Waters (violin 2016), and William Clark (viola 2015) have been touring a very special program in 2017 – Affine Territories. The program presents string quartets by Pavel Haas, a composer who died in Auschwitz, and Leoš Janácek, his teacher and mentor. Their upcoming Sydney concert will also include music by Purcell and a special performance by Cantor Joshua Weinberger. Affine Territories explores music’s ability to embrace differences and all program proceeds will support The Great Synagogue and Board of Jewish Education.

Oslo PhilHear alumna Alison Rayner (violin 2000), a member of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, celebrate Christmas in true Norwegian fashion. One of three traditional festive concerts from the orchestra in 2017, experience over 200 people onstage and a program including all of the classics (sung in Norwegian of course!).

ray-chenAlumnus Ray Chen (violin 2003) has a busy December with performances across Europe and Asia. If you happen to be in Switzerland and have tired of the many Christmas markets, why not pop down to Tonhalle Maag and catch Chen performing Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy violin concerto with the Tonhalle Orchester?

1200px-Louisville_Orchestra_PortraitIf you’re after a truly country Christmas, alumna Donna Parkes (trombone 1996) who is the Principal Trombone in the Louisville Orchestra will be playing alongside country superstar Jennifer Nettles, a GRAMMY and Country Music Association Award winner. This holiday themed concert promises to be a powerhouse performance.
